DECREASE YOUR CHILD'S EATING DISORDER THOUGHTS

Hi, I’m Krista Godfrey- a registered dietitian nutritionist that has specialized in the treatment of eating disorders for the past 12 years while working in both an eating disorder treatment program and outpatient setting. My patients are primarily children and adolescents, and while their health and recovery is my primary goal, I consider coaching and supporting their parents one of my main priorities. Parents have a key role in their child’s recovery, and they need support throughout the process just like their child. As the saying goes, “you can’t pour from an empty cup.” Parental responsibilities are hard enough as it is, but there are few circumstances more draining than nursing a child to health.
The Dos & Don’ts Checklist for Parents and Caregivers of Children with Eating Disorders is a must-have guide for every parent supporting a child with an eating disorder. This checklist gives clear tips to help parents help their child.
Without following its principles, there is constant tension around food, frustration at meals and fear for your child’s health. If your heart is aching to help your child, but you are unsure how or where to start, this checklist will provide some clarity. With it you’ll have confidence in what to say and do to help, and make meals enjoyable again.
Genuinely,
Krista Godfrey
